Odd living dining kitchen area....
I'm undecide about the colors I should choose to paint my house...have lived here for almost two years and still have not accomplished this task because I'm not sure how to. I like colors that are dark earthy tones (ones that would give me the feeling of....hot chocolate...not the color but the way you feel when you drink it) but my living room, dining, and kitchen area are small and I don't want to make the area feel even smaller. I also would like to use two complimentary colors but unsure what color to paint which walls. My house also doesn't have an actual entryway. When you enter you walk directly into the livingroom area. To your right is a wall with a window that goes from floor to ceiling, straight ahead is another wall with a window and door (that goes out to a small porch) and to the left of the window and door is a large brick fireplace (where our tv is hung on) and to the left of the fireplace is the entrance to the hallway. The adjacent wall has a breakfast bar that opens to the kitchen and right to the left of the breakfast bar is the entrance to the kitchen. This area is considered the living room but there is a small space behind (too small to fit an actual dining room table without being crowded) and is considered the dining area. The one wall has a window that looks out to the steps coming into the house. This dining living area is so small that our loveseat is the divider to an imaginary entrance way and our sofa is the divider between the living and dining room. Keep in mind everything is very crowded (not joking, the couch and dining room table have a clearance of maybe half a foot and the table is also against the back wall, it's a large dining room table and I plan on replacing it with a smaller one, I should also mention we cant even use it because there is no room to pull out a chair and sit.) So you see my dilema. But how can I use the warm earthy tones that I want without making my living space look any smaller. I want to use the darker color on the wall with the fireplace....Not sure how to go about doing this....PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I think, painter is one of the fastest, easiest, and cheapest ways to add real value to your home. Paint is one of the easiest and most economical ways to spruce up your home, inside or out.

Your absolutely right Tom ! Wink Applying new paint colors and coatings into the same living quarters, can bring new life and vigor in the areas we spend the most time, gaining the most enjoyment.

I would try using the darker colors most near window openings, having natural light give darker colors a more open feeling, as lighter colors in darker places in your home will do the same. Good Luck, Keep us Posted Kimav86 !

RE: Odd living dining kitchen area....
Trying to figure out a neutral color other than off-white and that will go nicely with wood flooring. Thanks.
