Gravity feed cup-gun
Rarely do I ever water down latex paint, but today I did. Using a gravity feed cup-gun, air assist, not airless, offers a finer spray pattern, with more product control. Running a high quality latex paint must be thinned down to a thinner working viscosity, in order for the air to push through the orifice. Even putting finger over the tip while pulling the trigger to prime gun is sometimes not enough, and tried this first. Thinning Alkyds is a must using many HVLP's. having a very fine spray pattern as well.

RE: Gravity feed cup-gun
Airless sprayers create overspray. Overspray is really a fine mist which will settle on each and every factor close to it.
