Painting Door Tips
Getting ready to paint some of our own doors, couple never been painted before, only having primer, before painting, always good to run a sanding sponge on door edges to smooth out before painting. That way once painted, a nice smooth edge will be felt opening doors, especially on closet slider doors. Also caulking any nail holes on edge of new doors, before spraying out door surfaces. These holes are intentially made holding door in place in door jambs, keeping in all in place while installaing. Thought I'd pass this along for your do-it-yourselfer.

Work carefully and use the rag to clean the paint from dripping paint.Allow the paint to dry. Sand the door gently, and then apply a second coat.

You sound like a Professional Stevenson! Say, Welcome to the Painting Forum, if I have not mentioned. Smile

First use the roller to deliver the paint on the face of the door quickly and evenly. Then brush the paint applied by brush for a smooth surface. # To paneled doors that start work from the panel on the top left and work your way down the door in an orderly manner. Apply paint with a roller and paint brush.
